One of the places that shaped me most was Livingstone, a small town on the Zambian side of Victoria Falls. From the ages of seven to fifteen, it was a kind of second home—a place we visited almost every year, where mango trees grew wild, monkeys moved like clockwork, and cousins became co-conspirators in a kind of joyful chaos.
We’d run around barefoot, eating fruit straight from the trees, chasing adventure in places we had no business being—like the gorges, which we explored with fearless wonder and zero adult permission. It was the 90s. So no, we weren’t getting grounded. We were getting hidings. And we knew it. And still—we went.
Livingstone wasn’t glamorous back then, but it was magic. And as I got older, I began to see it through a different lens. The hotels, the bridge, the bungee jumpers… I started to dream about coming back one day—not as the wild cousin on school holiday, but as a woman with her own plans, her own money, and her own beautiful outfits.
This year, at 36, I got that chance. I was invited back to Victoria Falls for the first time in almost a decade—an all-expenses-paid trip, staying in a boutique hotel, with every outfit planned down to the earrings.
But when I landed, my luggage didn’t.
And that’s where the real story began.
The only item I had with me that was mine—truly mine—was the Take Flight jacket. It was meant to be one outfit among many. But instead, it became the anchor of the entire trip.
Lightweight but strong. Effortless but eye-catching. This jacket traveled with me across the bridge into Zimbabwe, through mist and border control, through photoshoots and market walks, through moments of stillness and full-circle emotion.

It's army green with maroon bird detailing—crafted in a timeless cut that balances edge and ease. It has pockets (yes, real ones), buttoned cuffs, and a structured collar that makes you feel like you can walk into any room—or across any bridge—with your head held high.
I didn’t expect a jacket to carry my story, but that’s exactly what it did.
