What's funner than a piece that you can switch up for different moods of your life? ...pockets, pockets are funner than that, well this piece has pockets too so its a plus.
I am taking you through one of my favourite things to wear, a Kimono, I haven't really been able to decide what length I like the best but my current obsession is the maxi length, there is something really chic about a kimono in this length.
I'll be taking you through 3 ways to wear your kimono ( I didn't get a chance to show you how to wear it as a dress but thats a story for another day I guess).
look 1: If you've been following my journey you'll know I'm a bit of a spirit junkie (not so much a bit, more a whole lot, but for the purpose of this post..) When Sundays comes you can be sure to find me at a sound bath or the park or meditating and I love and easy to go outfit, I like to wear my leggings and sports bra and my Kimono is a easy way to cover up a bit, keep warm, bee cool and still look really cute and on brand (wink wink). I usually wear this with flip flops so I can go into my classes with no fuss, but if I have plans to walk around then some simple canvas sneakers with an easy tote bag and I am good to go.
Look 2: I am not a winter baby at all, even though this year I have committed to fully embracing all the seasons and leaning into them so I had to remind myself that even in the winter I can still be bright and a hippie. I paired my favourite flare leg (I think they are bell bottoms) jeans with a chunky white turtle neck I've had since 2015, a black barrette and some round shades for a little character, I popped my Kimono on top to wrap up my look. I think I won at keeping warm and still being a print queen during cooler weather... wouldn't you agree?
Look 3: This look is so me... okay they all are but this really carries my liking things essence... A big hat that deserves its own seat on a plane. a fun hassle bag for movement and some shoes with character, I know a lot of people don't like a wedge anymore but I still love these. I like to wear a kimono over some short shorts, I'm note quite brave enough to show all my goodies so a little illusion goes a long way. I always like to pair my denims with a simple white T so this is just an elevated version of that, a great way to sass this up would be to add some big hoop earrings and some gold rings, its a great vacation look or even a Saturday city strutting look
Fashion has always been a great form of expression for me so creating pieces that I can really mix up depending on my mood and vibe always brings me so much joy.
